How to give up a gas connection to an LPG gas agency dealership?

There are several things that you need to take care of while moving out of your home or relocating. Among the most important things to do can be shifting the address or giving up an LPG connection. While in actuality it is a very simple process, many think it is a complex one. And hence, people often delay going to an LPG gas agency dealership and ultimately experience unnecessary hassles.

Handing over your LPG Gas Subscription

  • Empty the Cylinder

First and foremost, you need to ensure that your LPG gas cylinder is empty. You can use up the gas or transfer it to another cylinder before handing it over. If you do not have an empty cylinder, your dealership may reschedule your return.

  • De-Register with Distributor

Contact your LPG gas agency dealership and inform them that you want to hand over your subscription. They may ask for details such as your consumer number, name, and address. Provide them with the required information and follow any additional steps they may ask you to take.

  • Return the Cylinder

Once you have de-registered with the distributor, return the empty cylinder to them. You may be required to provide your original subscription receipt or proof of identity for them to be able to verify.

  • Receive Refund

Lastly, if you have a security deposit with the distributor, you may be eligible for a refund. Hence, contact the distributor to know the process for receiving the refund.

Conclusion

While this is an ideal scenario, It's important to note that the process for giving up a subscription to an LPG gas agency dealership may vary based on the distributor and region. Additionally, they may also ask you to fill out a form or provide additional documents as per the distributor's guidelines. It's recommended to contact your distributor in advance and ask for details about the specific steps required to discontinue your subscription.
