Why Is It Crucial To Always Remember The LPG Cylinder Due Date?

Updated: Jul 3, 2024

LPG or liquefied petroleum gas is one of the most important conventional fuels in the world currently. The most economical, eco-friendly and yet conventional, LPG gas has emerged as the go-to fuel for many or rather most industries unequivocally. Because of its high calorific value, uniform heating capabilities and especially cost-effectiveness, using LPG cylinders on a mass scale is much more cost-effective to all business owners rather than using fuels such as diesel or even electricity. Thus, equipping industries with cylinders on a mass scale is a very common phenomenon that is seen across many warehouses and organizations. A major threat to this smooth LPG-using procedure is if you are not keeping up with the LPG cylinder due date or what is known as the LPG expiry date.

How To Check Your LPG Cylinder Expiry Date?

This is a common question that is often asked. The simple answer is that LPG cylinders do not come with a fixed expiry date. The due dates in cylinders vary. The gas cylinder expiry date starts with an alphabet followed by a date. The alphabet ranges from A to D. The entire year is divided into 4 quarters. A refers to the first quarter (January to March), B refers to the second quarter (April to June), C refers to the third quarter (July to September), and D refers to the last quarter (October to December). After the alphabet, the digit that comes refers to the year. Thus, if the code is “C-25”, then it means the cylinder has to be tested again in the quarter of 2025. If the cylinder in question is an old one and is not to be used recently, then testing happens again when the cylinder is brought back into circulation. Thus, the gas cylinder expiry date is something that every consumer has to be aware of to maintain proper reliability and efficiency at all times.

Thus, as you can see, being in touch with your LPG expiry date is nothing difficult. You just need to know and more than that remember, how it exactly works. Once you know that, you will be completely free and equipped against loss of fuel and circumstances that end up compromising safety.

Key Takeaways
